Forbidden City & Tian'anmen Square

the whole first week memang abis ngan lecture jer... so saturday, they organize a visit to Forbidden City & Tian'anmen Square @ Downtown, Beijing... kitaorang naik bas for lebih kurang 1 hour journey... awal-awal organiser dah pesan yang kami akan jalan jauh... more than 5km... so, sangat penting untuk pakai kasut yang sangat comfy... bila sampai, dari parking ke entrance masuk forbidden city tu pun dah sakit kaki... hehe... pastu pulak, punya la ramai manusia... btw, walaupun sangat penat berjalan disebabkan tempat yang sangat luas dan berhimpit dengan ramai orang... tapi I rasa berbaloi... little info about those places :

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost five hundred years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government. Built in 1406 to 1420, the complex consists of 980 buildings with 8,707 bays of rooms and covers 720,000 m2 (7,800,000 sq ft). The palace complex exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture, and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, and is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.

Tian'anmen Square (simplified Chinese: 天安门广场; traditional Chinese: 天安門廣場; pinyin: Tiān'ānmén Guǎngchǎng, Mandarin pronunciation: [tʰjɛn˥˥an˥˥mən˧˥]) is the large plaza near the center of Beijing, China, named after the Tiananmen (literally, Gate of Heavenly Peace) which sits to its north, separating it from the Forbidden City. The Tiananmen Square is the largest city square in the world (440,000 m² - 880 m by 500 m) . It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history.
