SGGS's 125th Anniversary 2010

This is to inform you that our school is celebrating their 125th anniversary this year. We are actually having an official launch of the celebrations this Monday with a press conference and a short preview of the 4 main events lined up, namely,

(1) a trip to Australia

(2) an international student conference

(3) a musical dance drama entitled, "Fame Up"

(4) a grand dinner sometime in October

I will let all of you know about the dinner which we are assisting in with its theme 'RED GLORIOUS RED"

On an urgent note - We, ex girls, have been approached by the students who are organising "FAME UP" to do an opening dance number for their show - basically a 2-3 minute dance performance to introduce their musical on 16, 17 & 18 April 2010. It will be to "Diamonds are a girl's best friend". They want to add a touch of sophistication and glamour and it is only natural for the students to believe that there can be no one other than our very ex SGGS girls who can deliver all those elements. So what say all of you. They need about 10 dancers. It will be choreographed by the girls and the training will be at school. I hope you don't think its a challenge and even if you think it is - I urge you to recall our school song, "If there is a challenge, let's go right ahead.... giving our best from day to day..... if there is a will there is a way" So I strongly urge you to take the challenge as I have ... join me on stage and let it be an evening to remember. If you can't dance ... do not worry... its not a difficult number... i am assured the steps are designed to make us look good.... BTW Datuk Faridah Merican (an ex-girl and one of the pioneers of Malaysia's performing arts) has already kindly consented to officiate at the opening so .... my dear seniors and juniors .... bring out your glad rags and sophistication and give our school your resounding support. I intend to report back to this group to inform everyone what the response is to my request - whether it is "great" or "lembap" I will. So my dears.... give me a favourable response within 5 days failing which ... we have nothing to shout about how supportive we ladies are... Looking forward to your "Yes"
